The Hornet enclosure uses one only wide range Lowther drive unit thus avoiding the crossover circuits and overlaps that multi speaker designs cannot avoid. The benefits of "single source" loudspeakers are many and, in the case of the Hornet enclosure, the drive unit is mounted on the baffle to avoid refraction/reflection of the sound.
Bass horns are not easy or cheap to manufacture and so Lowther in Australia set out to develop methods of solving this obstacle to enable lovers of music and audiophiles experience the joy of listening to realistic sound reproduction!
These fine horn enclosures are assembled in Adelaide, South Australia, by specialist craftsmen who take pride in their work.
Music experts have auditioned the Hornets and say "The Hornet-Lowther sound is "musically dynamic and natural , easy to listen to, pure and clear and really does have the "feel" of being there!".
